I'm here to help you make less trash and consume less crap

About me

The story behind Come Clean

As a student of sustainability and partner for a clean beauty brand, I learned a lot about what the bad stuff in products can do to both our bodies and the planet and some of the best alternatives. I also have dug into the better options for unloading your unwanted stuff, getting it to people and organizations that can more readily find things a second life (instead of sending them to the landfill).

Even with the knowledge and drive to do better every day, I sometimes feel overwhelmed with *all* the different suggestions and things to avoid/buy/do, so I knew others did too. Many of my friends and clients were asking me for recommendations on everything from cleaning products to mattresses to what to do with their old batteries or bathing suits or you name it, and I truly love to help people figure this stuff out!

Over the last 15 years I've built my knowledge on trusted journalists and experts who do the real work of digging into data to give science-based answers to the many tough questions we have on all of these subjects. I follow and regularly consult blogs, books, articles and content to keep up on their findings and go to them when I seek answers.

I like to do the work so you don’t have to, saving you time, money, and frankly, some sanity.

I live in Brooklyn with my husband and during vacations and summers, my college-student boys (who triple our grocery bill). I'm a native New Yorker and life-long Knicks fan.

If you prefer long-form to social media, check out my (hopefully?) weekly newsletter on Substack about midlife, living with less crap, and the importance of place, written smartly with occasional sailor-like language and/or teenage lingo.
